The service maintenance guys come in your apartment without notice and without leaving a note which in my world is invasion of privacy. They move things around and don't put them back in their place.
They will smile in your face but once your turn around, their face changes.
There's constantly lack of hot water. In the winter, you could go days without any heat at all. Not very good especially if you have a little child.
Stay away from this awful apartment. I lived here for 3 years and a half only becuase of my financial situation. First of all if you travel and have 2 cars in the lot. They just put a piece paper on your front door barely a day before they will tow your car. I called the office telling them that i travel a lot and i need you to call me if you need my car removed. They said we don't have to do that it says it on your lease that we can tow your car we just have to provide a 24- hour notice we don't have to call you. Talk about the definition of a rude, obnoxious person. They just do the bare minimum. They can't even give a generous week notice, barely a day notice. Their maintenance are horrible, if you call them they will enter your apartment with muddy shoes and could care less leaving a mess in your apartment. Also this one was a shocker. If you have kids and if your not in the apartment they can come in and spray poison all over your apartment for bugs. So if you have a kid that lives with you, then this place could care less about that. I know times are tough and if you have to live in this horrible, HORRIBLE apartment cause you have to move in and it's the ONLY place you can afford then you have to do what you have to do like me. But try and I stress TRY!!! to get a better place. Trust me you are better off spending an additional $100 a month at another place then to stay in this place of hell. And also once you give you 45 day notice that you will not renew your lease, they will have strangers going into your apartment to show the apartment. Again this apartment is HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!!!
Please consider other places before even paying 'Brookstone Apartments' any mind.
Now they're enforcing a rule that prevents you from standing in front, back or anywhere around your apartment. No one can stand outside - Like they put it, "you're renting an apartment and not the area around it". In other words, your kids can't ride their bikes, your son can't play football around the apartment area, you can't hang in the hallway. You are expected to be in your apartment each and every waking moment.
First of all, their maintenance service sucks.... If I were you, I will look elsewhere.
They treat you like like dogs. They slip letters under your door calling the tenants lazy! It's absolutely ridiculous and I've never had to deal with apartment managers like these.
My family and I moved in here at the end of 2005, ever since I've regretted it day after day.
I'm happy my lease will be over in a matter of weeks and I'm getting out.
Brookstone is not such a bad place to live. I like it that they don't want people hanging out in the hallways or standing outside in front of the doors or kids playing football outside people's windows. That is what parks are for and we should be considerate of other people living in the community who work and need their rest and peace and quiet. Also I like it that they leave messages on the doors as apposed to knocking on doors or making you pass the office to get them. Many people work and they are not in or they come home late and tired. You can have up to 2 cars but registered and with the appropiate sticker which is also great because it discourages people who don't live there to just take space. The area is fairly good and everything is walking distance. The downside to Brookstone and it would be great if they would look into this, is that the heat is left on until May and tenants don't have a way of turning it down. Apartments get really hot. And also the floor squeaks a lot! and you know exactly where in their apt is the upstairs neighbor. You can even follow in their conversations and if they happen to have kids is like it's thundering right above you, not to mention if they come home late at night throwing things around, talking loud, kids running around and squeaking right above you. Only for that I give it a 4. But all and all, is not so bad for people who work and are considerate.
