We went there for the annual Real Ale Beer Festival, but it certainly seems like a lovely oasis in the middle of West Hartford.

House was great. Tour guide was full of energy.
This is a fantastic representation of colonial life, with a wide variety of programs if you go on the right day. The best part about this museum is that you can actually stand in the birthplace of the man who basically wrote the American version of English. My favorite part was the clock and China set, both of which were owned by Noah Webster himself. The only downside is that since the museum is Noah's old home it's not very large. You can see everything there is to see in a few visits. Of course then there's always tavern night, an adults only dinner and bar night with colonial games.
